SCOTLAND saw a massive increase in UFO sightings in the year the Ministry of Defence axed their supernatural investigations department.
New figures released under Freedom of Information Act have shown that reported sightings increased three-fold in the year that the MoD shut down its UFO hotline.
Last year 28 were reported to the MoD while just 10 were received in 2008 and nine the year before.
The calls varied from incidents with obvious explanations – an airborne object near Edinburgh Airport, travelling “at the speed of an airliner” – to more mysterious ones.
Among the calls that defence staff received last year include a man reporting a “bright orange bulb” in the sky in East Kilbride, that “came towards him like a tornado, then disappeared”.
Another vague report was of a “bright orange light approached at low level… then it turned red”.
Investigate
The MoD have now ceased recording sightings after keeping their UFO department running since the 1950s.
Until the end of 2009 members of the public could phone a hotline or email sightings of UFOs to defence staff to be investigated.
Malcolm Robinson, who founded the Scottish organisation Strange Paranormal Investigations, said: “I’m sad they’ve closed the desk. It’s up to people like myself and my colleagues in Scotland to continue what is going on.”
The department was set up in the 1950’s and recorded 11,000 sightings in the 60 years it operated the service.
Nick Pope, who headed up the £50,000-a-year department from 1991 to 1994, criticised the decision to close it, saying: “We’re leaving ourselves wide open to terrorist attack.”

“UFO sightings are at an all time high. There has been no announcement in Parliament and no public consultation.”
A statement from the Ministry of Defence said: “The MOD has no opinion on the existence or otherwise of extra-terrestrial life. However, in over fifty years, no UFO report has revealed any evidence of a potential threat to the United Kingdom.
“There is no Defence benefit in such investigation and it would be an inappropriate use of defence resources.
“Furthermore, responding to reported UFO sightings diverts MOD resources from tasks that are relevant to Defence.”

It is becoming common knowledge that the government is preparing us for “disclosure”.
The fact that the governement is getting out of the way by shuting down investigative departments looking into the supernatural (ufo) is enhanced by the fact that now more stories can go directly into the media network. Unfortunately don’t conclude that we will be getting the truth anytime soon . So here is the truth from me.
Every clear night you can see UFO space craft with third generation night vision goggles. Done deal! Let’s move on. Why three million people incarcerated in the United States? Could it be that we are living in a faciist police state in which we are raised from craddle to grave on – lets say “lies”? Is it reasonable or unreasonable to believe that California went from the best education state to the worst? Is it true that California is the testing ground for all the programs and policies that govern us today?

You are going to make me believe that picture is a UFO? Now i know this is a fake and a lame excuse of an article. Please stop poting these stupid articles for god saxe you have nothing better to do with your time? Take a camera, before the flash comes on move it fairly quick towards a light and it will cause that zig zag effect like seen above….your not fooling anyone with that picture. I take these kind of pics all the time cause they are cool, but definatly NOT ufo related.
We Are Not Alone
You can see ufos every clear night using third generation night vision goggles. They range in price between $2,500 and $4,000. In the first two hours after dark, you can see an average of 10 to 50 or more sightings. This is the best time to view. Not only do you have the function of the night vision goggles, but the sun is still shining on the objects traversing above you. Night vision also allows you to see frequency of light that is above and below the normal range ofthe eye. This is accomplished by imaging characteristics of the night vision much as the way color and black and white is different as we view it on film or tv. The difference is that most light frequency is invisible to the naked eye. Therefore, there are craft we cannot see with the naked eye as well.
