Guilty Darren’s driving days are over after 4am smash

SHAMED actor Darren Day made a grovelling apology after being banned from driving for five years and fined £1250 for crashing his wife’s top of the range Mercedes whilst drunk.

After a two-day trial at Edinburgh Sheriff Court the former I’m A Celebrity star – who was yesterday found guilty of possessing a Ninja style cosh – revealed the December smash was also partly to blame for the split from his partner Stephanie Dooley.

Speaking outside court, a smartly dressed but sad looking Day said: “I am truly, deeply and sincerely sorry for what I have done.”

Day was engaged five times before wedding the ex-Emmerdale actress two years ago.

Scotland’s UK cocktail champ set to mix it with world’s best

A SCOTS barman has been crowned the best cocktail maker and shaker in the UK.

Ryan Chetiyawardana wowed celebrity judge Marco Pierre White to beat contenders from around the country with his exceptional tipple, the Three Storm Flip.

Now the Bramble Bar star will represent the UK competing against the world’s finest bartenders from Japan, Dubai and South America.

A tense final at Kent House in London’s Knightsbridge saw 15 bartenders whittled down to the final two.

Ryan went head-to-head with Andreas Tsanos from Zuma in London to battle it out for the grand prize.

Top chef Mr Pierre White said: “What I wanted to see was someone who could engage me, give me something I’d never had before and that was exactly what Ryan did.

IRN BRU RECIPE REVEALED

SCOTLAND’S best-kept secret has been revealed – Irn Bru really is made from girders.

The keep of the recipe, Robin Barr, has let it slip that there is 0.002 per cent of ammonium ferric citrate (AFC) in the national drink.

And ferric means iron – even if it is tiny quantities of the metal.
