MSPs take on Scottish football greats in anti-racism challenge 269

A TEAM of MSPs took on Scottish football greats in a bid to drive racism out of football.

The Scottish Parliament’s team – including Ken Macintosh, John Park, Tavish Scott, Frank McAveety and Andy Kerr – took on a celebrity packed eleven at Tynecastle Stadium last Friday.

But the team didn’t stand much chance against the team of former pros, who included Gary MacKay, Chic Charnley and Gordon Smith.

The match organised by ‘Show Racism the Red Card’ is aimed at raising awareness over the prejudices which still blight Scottish football.

The game launched a fortnight of anti-racist football activities.
