Four teens appear in court after Simon San death

FOUR teenagers appeared in court today following the death of a delivery driver in Edinburgh.

Simon San, 40, died in hospital after suffering severe head injuries outside his family’s Chinese takeaway on Wednesday night.

A 16 year-old boy and a 15 year old boy were charged with culpable homicide at Edinburgh Sheriff Court.

The pair were also charged with assault and robbery, as were another 16 year-old and a 14 year-old boy.

They each made no plea or declaration to the charges and bail applications for all four were refused during brief appearances in private before Sheriff Deirdre MacNeill QC.

Police Put The Brakes On Summertime Driving Offenders

POLICE have arrested a man over an assault on a Paramedic who was trying to help him after a crash.

The 52-year-old had been involved in a collision in South Queensferry and turned on the medic who was tending his injuries.

Officers found he was over the legal drink drive limit and charged him.

No further details have been released.

But the incident came on the first day of a national police summer anti drink/drug drive campaign. Continue reading
