Two thirds of Scots want “cruel” snares outlawed

A WOMAN whose dog was caught in a vicious snare has joined growing calls for Scotland to lead the way in banning the deadly traps.

Jill Flye’s seven year-old English Pointer Monty was “yelping in pain” when he got caught in a trap on a public path.

After helping her distressed pet out of the snare, she said she was even more shocked to find out they were entirely legal in Scotland.

Now she is teaming up with MSPs in a bid to gather support before the issue is debated in the Scottish Parliament later this year.

Scot wins legal fight to have no sex whatsoever

A SCOT has been officially recorded as neither male nor female in what is believed to be a world first.

Paisley-born Norrie May-Welby has won the right to have a birth certificate that specifies “Sex Not Specified.”

The 48 year-old – who was born a man and had a sex change operation 20 years ago – now lives in Australia and last week convinced authorities to create a genderless option on all official documents.

Doctors recently declared they were unable to determine whether Norrie’s body was a man or a woman, according to the ex-pat.
