Devastated Pilley family speak ahead of huge hunt

By Michael MacLeod

A SUCCESSFUL hunt in the search for the body of missing Edinburgh officer worker Suzanne Pilley would feel “like winning the lottery” for her father.

Robert Pilley, 67, gave an emotional interview tonight ahead of a large-scale search in the Argyll Forest this weekend.

Police and volunteer mountain rescue experts will scour the dense forest on Saturday and Sunday in a bid to retrieve her body.

Mr Pilley said he was hopeful the search would be successful but said the three months since his youngest daughter disappeared had been “heartbreaking.”

He said: “The whole family’s totally devastated. I just don’t know when it’s going to end.

Workers Secure Home After Mobile Phone & Laptop Theft

By Paul Thornton

THE former lover of missing Edinburgh bookkeeper Suzanne Pilley had his home secured again today (fri) after a break-in in which he claims a mobile phone and laptop were stolen.

David Gilroy, 47, welcomed glaziers to his house following a break-in at the Silverknowes Brae address two weeks ago.

On May 24 Mr Gilroy told how his back door had been broken during an early morning raid.

He said a laptop a Nintendo Wii and a mobile phone were taken.

Workers from Martindales Double Glazing arrived at the property this morning  just before 10.30am to replace the door.

They spent around an hour working on the damage before returning with the old door.

One worker confirmed that Mr Gilroy was at home.

And a delivery firm later showed up with a package for the dad-of-two.

The DPD Global Express courier appeared to hand over a Hewlitt Packard laptop which Mr Gilroy’s wife Andrea signed for. Continue reading

Suzanne Pilley Ex Delivers Silence As Package Arrives

By Paul Thornton

THE former lover of Suzanne Pilley today (wed) received a mystery package from the firm where he and the missing 38-year-old worked.

David Gilroy, 47, spent most of the day shut in his home after being suspended by bosses at Infrastructure Managers following the disappearance of his former colleague Suzanne on May 4.

He left his home in Edinburgh’s Silverknowes Brae yesterday only briefly to drop off his wife Andrea and their children elsewhere.

But he made an appearance to sign for a large package delivered by a courier around 2pm.

Mr Gilroy opened his door just long enough to snatch the package from the arms of the City Courier worker before passing out a receipt.

He refused to answer questions about his movements in days after Suzanne’s disappearance. Continue reading

Real life Cracker: “Suzanne death could be accident”

By Paul Thornton

A REAL life Cracker has said that Suzanne Pilley’s killer may have taken her life by mistake and hidden the body in a panic.

Dr Ian Stephen, who advised on the hit crime drama starring Robbie Coltrane, said that details of the murder case suggest that the 38-year-old’s murder had not been planned.

The consultant criminal psychologist, who regularly helps police forces with complex cases, points to claims that the bookkeeper’s killer shopped for a spade, clothes and make-up in a remote Argyll village, as evidence that the death may have happened unexpectedly.

Dr Stephen said that had whoever killed Suzanne planned to do it, then he would expect the murderer to be better prepared.

Police Peg Hopes Of Finding Missing Suzanne Pilley In Argyll

By Shaun Milne & Cara Sulieman

THE ex lover of missing bookkeeper Suzanne Pilley found himself hanging out to dry today (Tues) – as police stepped up their hunt for his missing work colleague.

David Gilroy spent the day at his Edinburgh home carrying out domestic chores and braved waiting reporters only long enough to hang out some washing in the back garden of the Silverknowes property.

He refused to answer questions about the continued police probe into the death of his former mistress as detectives announced they are basing a full time team at a Scots beauty spot where they believe her body has been dumped.

Police revealed they have now had more than 80 calls about possible sightings of a silver-coloured car in the Argyll area which they say is key to finding out what happened to the 38-year-old who vanished on May 4.

This morning her parents Robert and Sylvia, both 67, said they were too distraught to even contemplate talking about their feelings, exactly three weeks since she last texted them on her way to work. Continue reading
