Susan Boyle meets fans at Edinburgh book signing

SCOTS singing sensation Susan Boyle wowed fans at her first ever book signing on her home turf.

The Britain’s Got Talent star arrived at Waterstones on Princes Street, Edinburgh, to sign copies of her autobiography The Woman I Was Born to Be.

SCOTS superstar Susan Boyle has thrown her backing behind X Factor sensation Gamu Nhengu ahead of tomorrow night’s show.

The heartbroken 18-year-old has been left waiting for a miracle after being denied her place among the finalists in a row over her immigration status.

But while thousands flocked to signs petitions and join Facebook pages backing the talented teenager, her biggest boost came from Subo.

Asked if she thought that Gamu and her family should be allowed to stay in Scotland and stay in the competition, she said: “Well I think that’s the opinion of everyone at the moment.”

“I cannot really comment on it as it wouldn’t be fair to the family.”

Susan Boyle in tears on train after standing up to taunts

CHART sensation Susan Boyle was driven to tears when a group of youths began taunting her as she caught the train home from Edinburgh’s city centre.

On Sunday afternoon Susan, 49, was traveling from Edinburgh to Bathgate on her way home to Blackburn in West Lothian, when the troublemakers started mocking her.

She is said to have remained dignified, but was visibly upset as the taunting got worse throughout the 30-minute journey.

Modeling next for Subo as she prepares to be made out of wax

SCOTS singer Susan Boyle is to become the star attraction at Blackpool’s new Madame Tussauds museum – as a waxwork model.

Susan, 49, will secure her place amongst the rich and famous when her replica goes on display later this year, at Britain’s second Madame Tussauds.

The West Lothian songstress, who recently moved into a brand new £300,000 detached home in Blackburn, as already been measured up for the model.

Susan Boyle launches duet competition

SCOTS superstar Susan Boyle is offering fans the chance to record a duet with her for the next album.

She says the international competition is her way of giving back to those who have made her such a massive success.

On her website, Boyle said: “I decided that I wanted to give someone the opportunity that I had, a way onto the world stage, someone who has talent and just needs a break.

“For me it was through Britain’s Got Talent – it took me years to pluck up the courage.”

Hopeful entrants should record a video of them self singing ‘Silent Night’ and upload it to the competition on Susan’s youtube channel. Continue reading

Susan Boyle studio could shut down over cash

SCOTLAND’S top recording studio, used by Susan Boyle and Simple Minds, is facing closure over a cash row.

Glasgow’s Terminal Music could be shut down after talks to refinance a £1.9million loan from the Royal Bank of Scotland collapsed.

The prospect has been described as “tragic” by Simple Minds singer Jim Kerr, while politicians said the bank could have done more to save Terminal’s 15 jobs.

RBS insisted it had acted “fairly and reasonably” during talks over the deal.

TALENT NATIONBritain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle revealed she will be back in the studio later this week recording a brand new series of songs. Susan’s first album I Dreamed A Dream was a smash hit in November 2009, going straight to number one in both the UK and US album charts making it the best selling record of the year with an incredible 10 million sales and rising. Smiling on her doorstep, she said: “I’m off to London this week, back in the studio recording. I’m looking forward to it.” Dance troupe Spelbound won Saturday’s grand final.

Welcome To Subo Country: Tourism Plan For Susan Boyle

SUSAN Boyle might be a jet-setting sensation after her meteoric rise to fame, but she has always made it clear that her heart lies in her humble hometown.

And now tourism bosses are hoping the global star can help them sing the praises of West Lothian and get visitors flocking to the area.


They plan to turn the passionate Blackburn resident into an ambassador for the area as part of a new campaign to attract people to its “hidden gems” as a tourism mecca.

According to research carried out by the newly formed Visit West Lothian, most people in Central Scotland don’t know where it is, never mind international visitors.


And many who do know its location describe it as “a place you would drive through to get somewhere else”.

But Anna Lightbody, tourism executive at Visit West Lothian, is hoping to change that with a little help from the area’s most famous export. Continue reading

GE2010: Susan Boyle Has The X-Factor

SUSAN Boyle showed she thinks Britain’s got political talent by taking part in the nation’s very own X-Factor contest at the polls.

But the West Lothian superstar was keeping-tight lipped about which party won her vote at Our Lady of Lourdes Primary School in Blackburn.

Mentor Simon Cowell, of course, came out in support of the Tories earlier in the week but Susan said: “Yes, I’ve voted – but I’m not telling you who!”


Before heading for the polls SuBo stopped off to discuss matters of state at her local hair salon.

Maybe she was thinking about starting her very own fringe party.

Suan Boyle almost gave up singing dream

SUSAN Boyle has revealed that she almost gave up her dream of stardom before auditioning for Britain’s Got Talent.

The Scottish singing sensation spoke of her appearance on the talent show almost a year since she became an overnight star.

And the 49-year-old said the only reason she went on the show – paneled by Simon Cowell – is because of a pledge she made to her late mother.
