Occupational therapist given slap on wrist for sexual relationship

AN OCCUPATIONAL therapist who had a sexual relationship with a “vulnerable” ex-patient has received a slap on the wrist from the Health Professions Council.

The panel – led by John Williams – decided yesterday (Weds) to issue a caution order to Lynn Cameron for five years after she admitted the relationship to her supervisor.

Cameron was working at the South West Bridging Service in Glasgow when she started seeing the 25-year-old Patient A, who she had previously treated when she worked at Rossdale Resource Centre.

The Conduct and Competence Committee of the HPC had heard how Cameron had been warned about “over-familiar and flirtacious” behaviour with patients prior to the admission in 2007.

Simon Pegg to star in Burke and Hare film

COMEDIAN Simon Pegg is poised to star in a film about infamous Scots murderers Burke and Hare.

Since the film was announced last year, actors such as Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell have all been tipped for the lead roles.

But director John Landis – famous for horror films such as An American Werewolf in Paris and Michael Jackson’s Thriller video – hinted that the British star has already signed up for the role.

At the US Monster-Mania Convention in New Jersey on Saturday, the legendary filmmaker told fans that Pegg had been lined up to star as Hare.

Gerry Butler wants a family

SCOTS heartthrob Gerard Butler wants to start a family – but has admitted he will have to find a woman first.

Speaking to chat show host Craig Ferguson on the Late Late Show last Tuesday, Butler revealed that he wanted to have kids, but might need a girlfriend before that happens.

The comments come hot on the heels of rumours of a romance between the Glasgow-born A-lister and Jennifer Aniston after they were spotted getting cosy on set whilst filming together.

But Butler has called the rumours “ridiculous” and joked endlessly about the gossip whilst promoting his new film the Ugly Truth.
