Black Watch soldier killed by gunfire in Afghanistan

BREAKING NEWS: A SCOTS soldier serving with The Black Watch has been killed in Afghanistan.

The soldier, part of the 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland, was on patrol with the Afghan National Army in Woqab, close to Musa Qal’eh in the southern half of the country in the notorious Helmand Province region when he was hit by gunfire.

No further details were immediately available.

Next of kin have been informed, the MoD said last night.

The family have requested they be left alone overnight to come to terms with their loss.

Scotland’s worst ever paedophile ring convcited

THE family of a child victim of Scotland’s worst ever paedophile ring have told online perverts that watching child porn devastates lives.

Another family – whose child fell victim to the twisted network – said they felt “indescribable anguish” towards the man who abused their child after he and seven others were found guilty of various child sex acts.

The parents’ of two children who fell victim to the perverts – known as Child F and Child JL – hit out after the men were convicted at the High Court in Edinburgh.

Teenager killed in horror road smash

A SCOTS teenager has been killed after a horror road smash.

Lynsey McGillivray, 17, from Crail, Fife, was driving a blue Fiesta towards her home village on the A917 when she collided with a white Vauxhall Vivaro van.

The crash, which happened around 3.45pm on Wednesday, led to the road being closed for a several hours to allow police to carry out a road crash investigation.

The teenager is thought to be an only child and her devastated parents are still coming to terms with her death.

Yesterday, friends and family had left bunches of flowers at the scene.

Police are appealing for witnesses who can assist them with their enquiries or who may have seen the eastbound Fiesta prior to the accident to come forward.
